Top 3 Iced Herbal Teas For Summer

There is nothing more underwhelming than water on a beautiful summers day. For this reason, you might find yourself reaching for the fruity, sugary drinks to help spice things up.

Staying hydrated on a hot summers day is extremely important and you can do so with some of the most delicious herbal drinks that will both keep you hydrated and benefit the body.

These are my top three iced herbal teas for summer, a perfect balance of anti-inflammatory, hydrating and energizing deliciousness.

Sweet Spice

Ingredients:

  • 500ml water

  • 1 inch ginger, sliced

  • 1/8 tsp  dried turmeric

  • 1 tsp honey

  • Pinch of pepper

  • 3 slices of orange

  • ice

Method:

  1. Begin by boiling water.

  2. Once boiled add ginger slices, turmeric, honey and pepper and let steap for 15 minutes. The longer you steap the more juice and flavor will be released from the ginger.

  3. Pour over a glass of ice, add orange slices. I also like to squeeze the ginger slices to release the flavour.

  4. Enjoy!

Hibiscus Lime

Ingredients:

  • 500ml water

  • 1 hibiscus tea bag

  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 1 lime (1/2 sliced, the other half for fresh lime juice)

  • Frozen strawberries for icecubes (optional)

Method:

  1. Begin by boiling water.

  2. Once boiled add tea bag, honey, 4 basil leaves (set aside remaining basil to add in once cooled.

  3. Steap for 2 minutes, then remove tea bag.

  4. Cutting lime in half, reserve half for squeezing and slice the remaining half.

  5. Pour over glass of ice or frozen strawberries, add remaining fresh basil, lime juice and lime slices.

  6. I also used frozen strawberries for ice cubes, whichis optional.

  7. Enjoy
