The Cold And Flu & Your Gut

 

Struggling with your gut health doesn't just mean symptoms of gas, bloating and dreaded visits to the leu. In fact, gut related symptoms go way beyond just that! From your skin, your hormones, to your immune system you can bet your bottom, your gut has something to do with it.  

 

Catching colds, finding yourself easily getting sick or frequently getting sick is just one of the symptoms that often in part, is due to a weak digestive system. This is because up to 70-80% of your immune cells are located in YOUR GUT.

Getting your gut bacteria healthy and happy is one of the best things you can do to keep not only a happy gut, but a healthy immune system.

 

Probiotics plays an important roll in the digestion of our foods. With good digestive support, we will digest and absorb the great immune boosting nutrients like vitamin C from oranges and bell peppers, needed to help keep your body strong. Your good bacteria also play a key roll, like bouncers at the door, in keeping harmful/bad bacteria from latching on and repopulating in the gut.

Echinacea 

 

Let me start by saying, not all echinacea is the same. There are up to 10 differenct species, three of which are used for medicinal purposes. Echinacea purpurea is the most widely researched and A. Vogel's Echinaforce Extra is by far my first choice for echinacea products.

 

Studies have shown it will help to modulate your immune system, shorten the duration of your cold and greatly reduce the severity of your symptoms (1).
